Unceremoniously Dropped From Censor Board, Pahlaj Nihalani Still Comes Up With A Song For PM Narendra Modi!
Pahlaj Nihalani tells SpotboyE.com proudly, "I brought out the song 'Phir Se Modi Ghar Ghar Modi' in 2014. Now, my song has the lyrics 'Har Har Modi, Ghar Ghar Modi'. Yes, you have heard it right. I have recorded a new song in honour of our Prime Minister. I am completing my duty." Duty? Pat comes the reply, "We all have a certain responsibility towards the society. I did what I felt was right in '14. I am doing what I think is right in '19."

Quickly to the right question: Despite the fact that he was unceremoniously dropped from the Censor Board where he served as Chairman for nearly two-and-half years, how come did he think of doing another song for the PM? "Look, I think I was asked to do a job and I did it. Whatever might be the time I was given, I have never nursed hard feelings for Mr Modi and the BJP. And by the way, whatever decisions I took during my stint as Chairman, I was just following the Cinematograph Act 1952. I was not driven by any personal agenda."

Has he informed the PM about his new song? "Not really. But baat-cheet huio thi when last time my song became a talking point. Let's see what happens this time," Nihalani informs.

Pahlaj's new song has been sung by Krishna, penned by Hina Khan (not the Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 actress) and put to tunes by Ishwar Kumar. It was recorded 3 days back at Kailash Kher Studio.

And before he signs off, two very important questions: Your best friend Shatrughan Sinha has quit BJP and joined Congress. What is your take on that, Nihalani? "Well, that's Shatru's decision. I always loved Shatru and will continue to love him. Don't two brothers have different ideologies? Shatru remains family to me."

Two, doesn't this all imply that Nihalani is voting for BJP? "Now, that's a very personal question you have asked. But I like the Prime Minister. So..." he trails off. So? "So, I think I have answered your question," Nihalani concludes, wryly.
